My Cross Stitch Life

So I thought I would write today about my latest passion, cross stitching. I have been at this for a little while now, and although I don’t consider myself an expert, I have learned enough to certainly be advanced. The things I need to tackle are embellishing patterns (not real comfortable doing that yet) and creating my own patterns. I have created one pattern, a celtic cross table runner, but counts are off and so I need to re-do it.

In the mean time, I am happy stitching faeries, dragons and anything else that strikes my fancy. My favourite designer is Teresa Wentzler. I have recently enbarked on an endevor with my friend Erikka, by starting a
yahoo group for cross stitchers in southeastern Ontario
. We want to be able to get other stitchers together and just have stitching parties! Of course the more, the merrier!

On one of my cross stitch groups, I am organizing a round robin. This is an exciting venture for me since I have never actually organized one. My biggest issue right now is figuring out how to accommodate both the beginners who want to stitch only on aida and the advanced who prefer linen. Not sure how I will figure that out!

I also need to figure out what I want stitched for my piece in the round robin. I am leaning towards an astrology chart, but it looks like I will be forced to create my own pattern for that!! lol. (Hint, hint – if anyone has one of these, I would LOVE a copy!).

You can check out my Works-In-Progress here and let me know what you think. I am trying to update it regularily, so keep visiting!

Happy stitching!
Christine
