Do you have rules in the way you stitch? (i.e., Do you start in the middle? Do you determine which blocks to stitch first? Do you always start from the top or the bottom? Do you have special paths to prevent wasting thread?)
I don’t have any rules, but I do everything the same way every time! So, it really is more habit than rules. I start in the middle for most projects, I stitch the same way to save thread (since I am a cheap miser and can’t bring myself to spend the 35 cents on a skein. And sometimes I change my mind entirely!!
On a happy note, remember the entry I had spent whining about the lost round robin? I heard from one of the members and seems she has everyone else’s peices in her possession!! Yoink!! I have convinced her to send it all to me where I can divy it up and get it to the rightful owners. I think that since she is in Australia and money is tight for her, I suspect that she was having issues with shipping costs. So, my piece may actually be coming home soon. I certainly learned a lesson with this project – don’t jump into a round robin with people you don’t know! Oh, well. At least there is an end in sight.
I got another motif done last night. I am very rapidly getting very sick of stitching these. I have 9 done, and have 11 more to do. I am getting about one a day done, so I am going to have to buckle down and actually stitch hard to get these done. I am really looking forward to finishing these so I can move on to one of my large projects again.
So Scott’s schedule has changed again. I won’t even get started on the issues with his workplace with this, but it hasn’t made us happy. Anyways, his new shift is 11-8:30. Which means my Wednesday stitching night is no longer an option for me. Wah!!! I am not happy about that, since I get all kinds of stitching and visiting done then. It is nice to just get out of the house and not be surrounded by children or have to worry about responsiblities. I shall have to find something else I can do, I guess.
To drown my sorrows (and to look fabulous for Christmas), I have booked my first spa appointment for Saturday. Now that I am thinking about it, I don’t think I told you about the spa!! For my birthday, my FIL and SIL got me a spa package – four appointments where I get my hair, nails, feet, etc. done. Yee haw! I am really looking forward to this.
That’s all for today. Ta!
