Back to your regularily scheduled program

Thanks for your patience with my last entry and my lack of blogging. With Scott being off of work for the last two months, it has been quite stressful watching our funds going from “tight” to “non-existant”.

But on to bigger and better things.

The SBQ from last week was suggested by Nancy.

What is your favorite specialty stitch? Which one is your least favorite? Why?

I love doing and I love the look of Algerian eyelets. They are just so pretty! My least favourite is french knots, just because they are so difficult, but I am getting over that the more I do them.

I have re-selected my RR piece. We will be stitching monochromatic versions of the seasonal hearts from Anne-les-petites-croix.

An example of the spring one:

If each season is done in a corresponding colour, it should turn out quite nicely. Now I just need to light a fire and stitch it!

I have decided on what to stitch for Tessa and am not concerned about any issues with the stitchig – it will be the finishing that will be a trick! It’s not a method I have ever done before, so it will be interesting!

I leave you with pretties from my flower garden:

My peonies are blooming:

Some Lavender Mountain Lilies (I am shocked these are blooming – I was sure I would loose them to the squirrels!):

And another peonie I am pleasantly surprised at. This was one of 5 splits I planted early spring last year and I was positive they would never last the year. They are surprising me – a bud!

And finally Turkey – he is still reminding me he is a baby! lol

I love the colour of your peonies. Mine are kind of a dark fuchsia. I like the purple/mauve shade better.

Oh my! Your Lavender Mountain Lilies are GORGEOUS! I might have to get some of those for my garden, if they’ll grow down here…

Sounds like you should get your wish list up to date so that you don’t miss out on some new stash every once in a while. đŸ˜‰

Beautiful peonies, Christine. Mine are not opened yet and with the strong wind the last days a couple of brances are already broken.

Glad to see you back to your blog, I was missing ya! Sorry to hear about the $$$ troubles, I’m in the same boat with me now on Mat leave but there is always enough for a tank of gas (unless the prices go up more!) to come for a SAL. Can’t wait to see your flowers live and in person! Take care, Reb

I have felt the pain of your money woes, Christine. My dh started over and over and over again with different insurance companies before finally opening his own office, which of course, wasn’t profitable for quite awhile. Hang in there.
Your flowers are so wonderful. I love peonies and have a couple, but they have never flowered – I’ve moved them too often because of all the chaos in our back yard. Maybe I can move them to a permanent home in my new rose garden tho – I think they need more sun.
