And now for something completely different

I have been wanting to try scrapbooking for a while but the idea of sitting down with glue and scissors has not been very appealing. I have never been a glue stick kind of gal. Instead I have found digital scrapbooking, and coming from a (meager) graphic design background, I found it very inticing.

So, I thought I would give it a try. Below is the first page I have done. Obviously the photo could be better, but this is just to get the feel of the whole process.

  1. That’s a nice layout Christine.

I tend to be more of a glue and scissors kind of gal when it comes to scrapping. I’ve been on an XStitch kick lately and haven’t touched any of my scrapping stuff in about a year (other than to make an altered can a few months ago) but I’m feeling the urge to get back into it, especially when I see some layouts done up.

Where did you get the digital scrapping graphics, or did you make them yourself? I would love to try the digital variety someday, but I’m holding off mainly because I don’t have one of those nifty (and horribly expensive) printers that prints in 12×12 format, and all my scrapbooks are 12×12.

  2. Very cool! Did you do this layout yourself or did you have a program that helps with clean lines etc? I had someone give me a scrapbook, a huge amount of paper, specialty cut scissors and a whole raft of stickers when Cameron was born so I could do a scrapbook for him… I too am not a glue and scissors type of gal. My BF is and she helped me create about three pages just after Cameron was born and guess what, that is all that is in the book! This appeals to me a lot more.

    Beautiful page!

  3. I have been scrapbooking for a couple of years I don’t use scissors or glue sticks anymore unless I have to. I use a paper cutter and scrapbook tape.

  4. That’s a great start. I like digital scrapbooking it’s cheaper and you can find some great freebies πŸ™‚

  5. That looks great fun! Did you have to buy special software or is it somewhere online?

Congratulations on your HD – Lily Maiden. She is so lovely.

  6. Awesome, digital scrapbooking now that makes sense. I never understood the old paper album thing when we had digital photos. This is the perfect merge. You have inspired me. Thanks, CJ
